Bike Rentals.

Wednesday, October 20th, 2010

This week Bicyclemonkey.com and RentItToday.com teamed up and delivered a rental page on Bicyclemonkey.com for anyone to rent a bike. “This was something that I had hoped we could fit onto the site ever since we launched,” says Tim Humbert partner of bicyclemonkey.com. “Jason Glass (the owner of RentIttoday.com) and I talked about this for some time. It is a great fit for us and a great offering for our clients. We have worked with Jason before and have always been happy with their product offering.”

Bicyclemonkey.com started back in June to deliver a auction based store for people to buy and sell used bicycle parts. The twist is that their business model is a give back model for teams, organizations and clubs. Bicyclemonkey.com started in Cincinnati, Ohio with partners Tim Humbert and Greg Tankersley. Bicyclemonkey.com is looking to grow more on a national level over the next year.

RentItToday.com started by Jason Glass when he found himself with a vacant rental property he needed desperately to get rented. He tried placing an ad in the local paper, but quickly discovered the cost to list a property for two weeks was more than the mortgage payment. Jason concept was to produce a full color magazine with houses for rent and providing an interactive website so people could easily review properties online. The idea was to drive people to the site and RentItToday.com became bigger than just rental property, with listings for just about anything.

Bicyclemonkey.com and RentItToday.com started their partnership with the idea to have more access to cycling than just parts. This site will give customers the access to rent bikes for multiple days and give the opportunity to really test ride a bike before they buy one.

Cycling Auction

Monday, September 20th, 2010

When we started this site we wanted to be very specific and focus only on the cycling world. With a substantial investment we were able to work with a local web shop that had experience in building a site like this. The great news too was they were into the sport of cycling as well and could understand what the wants and needs were of the cyclist. Even better news for me they were able to deliver a cycling auction site that at a very reasonable price for everything around the store. Integrating a word press blog (which is free) and a forum was an excellent step to having our cycling store be more than the big Ebay cycling space. We were able to deliver a store that was not only a place to sell but also be able to build a community of cyclist around the store. We invite you to take part in our auction for cyclists and our forum.

Wednesday, June 16th, 2010

There has been some recent questions about how our site all works- Let me give you a quick run down on how this does work and most importantly how secure transactions work.

The site from the start
We wanted to deliver a quick landing page that can get you where you need to go- Blog Forum Store . A simple clean easy to navigate home page.

The Blog of course is just good cycling babble and some interesting news.

The Forum is a good way to find all your cycling answers from beginner to pro.

The Store is important that it delivers a good, easy and secure transaction for user. We do not take any credit card info on our site. Once an auction has ended a buyer completes their transaction on PayPal. We  Once the buyer has paid for their  auction at PayPal, then the buyer will have a link back to our site to continue shopping. All user info is kept confidential. No user personal contact info is displayed on the site and all interal e-mails do not display to external users e-mail.

As we start our soft launch we are setting up all postings as FREE. That’s right, for the first 90 days there will be no charge to post an item. *PLUS* when you post an item you can set it to relist 4 times at no charge, giving you a maximum listing time of 40 days. We want to give you every advantage to sell as we build our community. We are well aware that it will take some time to build our fan base but we are not going anywhere, so bear with us as we build our community.

We are in this for the cycling community! Don’t forget- as you register send an e-mail to support@bicyclemonkey.com and get your Bicycle Advocacy Code. At the end of each quarter we will tally up everyone that uses your code from auction sales and we will give 25% of our earnings to your team.

Welcome to Bicyclemonkey!

Friday, May 28th, 2010

We at Bicyclemonkey have been working very hard over the last few months to get everything ready for the launch, we are less than two weeks to be LIVE.

What will you find here?

Our core focus is to deliver a great cycling specific site for blogs, forums and a great tool to buy and sell cycling gear……. eBay? Sure, probably the first thing that comes to your mind. Nope we are not trying to take on the 900# gorilla in the room (well maybe a little).

What we want to deliver is a “auction/buy it now” that is only for cycling. The best part is that we want to give back to your community, club or race team with a ‘give back’ bicycle advocacy program. Hey we are not looking to make a bunch of money off this site; what we are looking to do is to bring money to the cycling community. Selling new, gently used or, as I would say, well broken in parts- to put money back in your pocket. When you are associated with a team or a club or a foundation we take a portion of our proceeds and send it to your designated team leader.
